Luc Robert
possesses a remarkable tenor voice and is becoming one of
the rising Canadian artists on the operatic and concert
stages. He studied at the Centre Musical en Sol
Mineur in Rouyn-Noranda, Québec where he continued his
training with Hélène Morasse. With the Hélène Morasse
Company he performed Gaspard in Amahl
and the Night Visitors, Simon and a High
Priest in Jesus Christ Superstar and
Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance.
Luc graduated
from the Montreal Conservatory of Music in April 2002
having been awarded the First Prize with
‘honours’ and in September 2002 he was engaged by the
Canadian Opera Company for 3 seasons in their ‘Ensemble
Studio’ as a young professional artist where, included in
his training he ‘covered the roles of the Duke (Rigoletto),
Rodolfo (La Bohème)
and Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly).
Luc Robert has
since appeared with Opéra de Rennes , Opéra de
Nantes, Opéra de Québec as Nemorino (L’Elisir
d’amore), Pacific Opera Victoria as the Duke (Rigoletto)
and with Vancouver Opera as Malcolm (Macbeth).
In the spring of 2007 he was the ‘cover’ for Alfredo (Traviata)
with the Canadian Opera Company and this summer was
the tenor soloist in the Verdi Requiem with
the Berkshire Choral Festival in Vancouver. Upcoming
is the role of Mylio (Le Roi d’Ys) with
l’Opera de Rennes, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria
with the Vancouver Chamber Choir and the role of Malcolm (Macbeth)
with L'Opéra de Montréal.
