Born in the Netherlands, Annemarie Kremer is
presently based in France and continuously performs with opera companies and
orchestras throughout Europe. She made her US debut in the title role of Madama
Butterfly in the summer of 2007 and received glowing praise for her portrayal.
In the fall of 2007 she will sing Madama Butterfly in Poland, the Netherlands
and Belgium.
Annemarie Kremer began studying the piano and
singing at the age of 17 at the Maastricht Conservatory, where she was also
admitted to The Dutch Opera Studio. Later she took coachings with famous tenor Carlo
Bergonzi.
After her studies, she was immediately
contracted by the State Opera Theatre in Aachen, Germany where she made her
German Debut as Ilia in Mozart’s Idomeneo to critical acclaim. During her stay
in Germany, she was invited to sing major roles with a number of the major opera houses in Germany.
After such a successful start to her career,
she was then invited by many of the leading Opera Houses throughout Europe.
Roles such as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (Mozart) in France, with famous film
director Gérard Corbiau (Farinelli, Le Maitre de Music) which was filmed live
for TV5 and broadcast worldwide. Rosalinde in Fledermaus with the Czech Opera
House in Prague, Micaëla in Carmen in the European Art Festival in Belgium,
Germany and Holland, the lead role in Agrippina in a tour visiting all the
Capitol Opera houses of Europe and the State Theatre Frankfurt, Germany. Giselda
in I Lombardi, Mina in Aroldo, Donna Elvira
in Don Giovanni at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam Holland.
In Europe, she is regarded as a fine Bel Canto
and Verdi singer. Because of the many possibilities to her voice, she has
acquired a wide range of repertoire and is now singing roles such as Desdemona
in Otello, Leonora in Il Trovatore, Magda in La Rondine, Violetta in
La Traviata, Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro and the title role in
Madama Butterfly.
Well known in Holland, Annemarie is often
asked to perform at the world famous ConcertGebouw Hall in Amsterdam. Annemarie also regularly sings in oratorio
performances including Verdi's Requiem and has made several recordings for Brilliant
Records singing repertoire of Mozart and Mendelsohn. Recently a DVD of Agrippina
was released in which she sings the title role to rave reviews.
This seasons’ (2007-2008) engagements include the title role in
Madama
Butterfly in The Netherlands, Poland and Belgium. Rosalinde in Fledermaus in a
semi-staged version at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam and the title role in the
